The Friday 5ives: The first GTD evening in the Netherlands

Yesterday we had the first GTD evening in The Netherlands. Together with Taco Oosterkamp and Marleen Kruyswijk from meereffect.nl I organized a fun evening where about 30 GTD enthousiasts exchanged ideas, showed some ubiquitous capturing tools and people gave demo's. Here are the 5 best things I experienced at this evening...
- Finally meeting some other enthousiasts. Even Pascal Venier came over from Great Britain and it was so much fun to meet the person behind the blog. We had some dinner the night before. We talked about GTD ofcourse, but also other subjects. Very nice to meet him! On the evening itself it was good to see I'm not the only anal retentive freak in Holland
- Seeing some other systems. I saw some great systems in Actiontastic, on paper, heard stories on Excel/Word systems. Very good to hear other perspectives
- Seeing at least 10 other persons walking around and writing things down on notepads. Nice!
- The free flow of ideas. We had some discussions about an all dutch GTD list, other blogs about lifehacking in the Netherlands and I think some alliances were formed to work together on various projects
- A great evening to geek out. It was just nice to talk all evening about tools, principles, GTD, lifehacking and personal productivity. I had a blast and it definitely calls for a sequel!
Some pictures can be found on Flickr.com. I know there will be some photos posted next week so keep an eye on the Flickr tag and the Dutch GTD-wiki!

I’ve seen the announcements of this meeting earlier this week. Really wanted to be there, to bad I was occupied by work.

Did you discuss any computer or mobile device applications for taking GTD on the road? I’d be interested in hearing what others are using. I recently started using NOZBE and wrote about my experiences in my blog at http://johnkendrick.wordpress.com
